Matcha Latte: The Good Way

We’ve called it ‘The Good Way’ because we’re Good Hemp therefore everything we do is good, but also, sometimes matcha lattes can be a bit bitter – and we’re here to tell you it doesn’t have to be like that! One mistake you (or your barista) could be making is heating the milk to boiling point – if the milk is too hot then it will burn the matcha, making it taste bitter and icky. It’s also important to add some sweetness, we recommend agave syrup, or honey if you’re not vegan. If you’re using our Barista milk you won’t need to add as much as it is already sweeter, but have a play around and find out what suits you.

Matcha is full of antioxidants, these are great at protecting your cells from damage, much like hemp milk . It’s also a great alternative to coffee as it still contains caffeine, but not quite as much, so good for replacing your 2nd (5th) cup of the day. It’s also cool because it’s green. Like, really green. Need another reason? This reason was made by our pal @myveganminimalist for us so you know it’s going to be good.

Ingredients
  • 450ml Good Hemp Milk
  • 1 tbsp hot (not boiling) water
  • 1 tsp matcha powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp agave syrup

Method

1

Create a matcha paste by combining 1 tbsp of hot water and 1 tsp of matcha powder, mix vigorously using a whisk until smooth.

2

Add agave syrup and vanilla extract and mix well.

3

Pour hot (but not boiling) hemp milk* over your matcha paste. Stir to combine, or use an electric milk frother to froth the mixture if you prefer a foamy version.

4

Pour out your lattes, decorate with a pinch of matcha powder if you’re feeling fancy. Voila!

*If you’re feeling adventurous, try our CBD seed milk – you won’t regret it!
