Swirly Summer Berry Smoothie Bowl

We’re really into pretty smoothies, and they don’t come prettier than these. Often we’ll be asked ‘what’s the point in making food look pretty if you’re just going to eat it?’ Well, Karen, it’s actually been proven that our perception of how delicious a food looks will influence our experience of how it tastes. There are even scientists who have used AR (augmented reality) to make food look more delicious (without changing the taste) and found people think it tastes better. So, for all of us out there spending time making our food look as pretty as possible, we’re actually eating tastier food because of it. Win.

This particular recipe was put together for us by Taj (aka @myveganminimalist) and is the perfect summer brekkie. With mango, banana and shredded coconut you can close your eyes and be transported to a tropical island. You just might have to try and block out the sound of the summer showers.

Serves 2.

  • 150ml Good Hemp Seed Milk
  • 100g frozen raspberries
  • 190g frozen mango
  • 2 large ripe bananas, sliced and frozen
  • 40g frozen blueberries
  • Toppings: hemp seeds, shredded coconut, chia seeds, fruit of choice



Add your seed milk, raspberries, mango and bananas to a blender. Blend it up until smooth.


Pour half of the mixture into your bowls. Then add frozen blueberries to the blender with the remaining mixture and blend again until smooth. (You might have to add a bit more seed milk at this step).


Add spoonfuls of your blueberry mixture in blobs on top of your original mixture. Then use a cocktail stick or a spoon handle to create swirls.


Finish off with toppings of your choice and serve!
