World Waffle Day
It’s World Waffle Day!
These fail-proof vegan waffles are the perfect breakfast, light lunch or dessert. They’re crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, low in sugar and completely beginner friendly.
They are also great because you can add whatever toppings you want to it – we love it with fresh bananas and hemp seeds with a drizzle of maple syrup
- 2 tbsp chia seeds
- 4 tbsp boiling water
- 330ml Good Hemp Seed Milk
- 1 tbsp white wine vinegar
- 80g wholemeal flour
- 150g plain flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- A pinch of salt
- 3 tbsp brown muscovado sugar
- 2 tbsp Good Hemp Oil
- Toppings: Banana and sweetener of your choice
Combine chia seeds and boiling water in a small bowl. Whisk well and set aside.
Combine Good Hemp Seed Milk and vinegar in a large cup. Stir thoroughly and set aside
Add wholemeal flour, plain flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar to a bowl and mix well.
Return to your seed drink mixture. Add oil and chia mixture. Mix well.
Carefully pour your wet mixture over your dry ingredients. Stir until few lumps remain.
Cook according to your waffle maker’s instructions – normally 8-minutes per waffle.
Serve with banana slices and sweetener of choice.
