Dairy-Free Chai Tea With Good Hemp Milk

What’s that? Chai tea can now be dairy-free? Rhymes aside, masala chai was first created as a healing ayurvedic beverage in India. Over the years, chai has travelled and changed, with everyone putting his or her own individual spin on the recipe. Our contribution is a hemp drink chai tea recipe, combining the ‘nutty’ taste of our dairy-free hemp drink (made from organic hemp seeds) with warm spices like cardamom and cinnamon.

Put the peppercorns, vanilla bean, clove and 12 cardamom pods into a pestle and mortar and gently grind to break them open.

Add these ingredients to a saucepan together with the cinnamon, salt, nutmeg and ginger to 500ml of water and bring to boil. Reduce the heat and cover, allowing it to simmer for 15 minutes.

Remove from the heat and add 4 bags of black tea to the liquid. Cover and let it sit for 5-10 minutes depending on your preferred strength.

Add 500ml of Good Hemp Original Mil and return to the stove, bringing the mixture to boil and whisking gently. Reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes.

Strain the liquid through a mesh-sieve. Divide and serve in your favourite mugs. Enjoy our delicious chai tea with hemp milk recipe!
