Beetroot Tie-Dye Smoothie
Possibly the best-looking smoothie we’ve ever seen, no one will believe it only took 5 minutes to throw together! Lauran Lovatt of the Plant Academy in East London developed this recipe for us as the perfect autumnal drink, full of seasonal berries and beetroot. The beetroot in this recipe provides some extra fibre as well as a natural sweetness that cuts through the sharpness of the berries. Cooked using
- For the Smoothie
- 200ml Good Hemp Seed Milk
- 100g raw beetroot, peeled and chopped into chunks
- 150g frozen berries (mixed or of choice)
- 5g Good Hemp Protein Powder
- Pinch salt
- 1 dropper full Good Hemp CBD (optional)
- For the Hemp Cream
- 100g Good Hemp Seed Hearts
- 200ml water
- 20g agave (or honey)
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
Method
For the hemp cream, blend the hemp seeds, water and honey until silky smooth. Set aside while you make the smoothie.
For the smoothie, blend the rest of the ingredients together until there are no chunks left of beetroot or berries and the mixture is nice and smooth (like the cream).
To get the groovy tie-dye effect, pour some hemp cream into the bottom of a glass, about ¼ of the glass, then slowly pour the smoothie into the middle of the cream, until it reaches the top. Next, swirl a spoon in the glass and voila, tie-dye smoothie you will have!
